Resources and Services

As you begin to explore the option of bankruptcy, it might make sense to reach out to a consumer credit counseling service provider in your area to see if they can help you work out a plan to resolve your debt.  Legitimate counseling services are often nonprofit and charge only nominal fees for their time and materials if, after the free consultation, you decide to sign on for a program. We do not recommend that you engage in counseling with any service provider not listed with either the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (www.nfcc.org) or the Financial Counseling Association of America (www.fcaa.org).

American Consumer Credit Counseling, based in Auburndale, MA and licensed to provide services on a national level, offers bankruptcy counseling from a financial perspective, as well as debt management programs for those who will be better served to avoid bankruptcy.
